Warrington Borough Council undertake a number of different Enforcement actions, primarily Planning Enforcement issues

An outline of the process is detailed below;

Planning Enforcement Notices

What is Planning Enforcement?

Warrington Borough Council (WBC) can serve an ‘enforcement notice’ if something has been built that requires permission but you haven't gained permission before building

An 'enforcement notice' is an instruction to put the building or land back to how it was before any work had been completed and its a potentially expensive scenario

An enforcement notice can also be issued if planning approval been granted permission based on WBC Planning Department's instruction but it has been done differently

WBC take this action if it is considered that the work done isn't acceptable, is harmful to the environment or if the work is not in the public interest

Is Planning is required before I start?

What action does the Parish Council undertake?

Any development of land or property within Stretton should be done so with the correct planning approval

In instances where work has been done, or is being done with no known planning approval - i.e.  potentially 'unauthorised development', any resident can report this with Warrington Borough Council to establish if the correct planning approval is held

If necessary, WBC will progress towards issuing an the enforcement notice

If you would like the Parish Council to monitor progress until remedial action is taken, please do not hesitate to contact the PC via the Clerk
