Stretton Parish Council

Cllr Linda Jones - Chair

Originally from North Warrington I have lived in Stretton since 1998. Married to Bryan, we have 3 children and 3 grandchildren (up to now!)

My interests are spending time with family and friends, community events, walking, reading, sewing and holidays at home and abroad

I joined the Parish Council in 2004 because I love where I live and I wanted to give something to the community. During my time as Parish Councillor and Chair I have organised projects such as Twinkling Stretton which provided living Christmas trees in the village; litter picks; and been a supporter of  Blooming Stretton involving daffodil bulb planting and as the Chair of the Parish Council I am proud to be able to represent the residents in public events including Remembrance Sunday. One duty I take very seriously is taking part in planning issues which can be of a delicate nature and have a large impact on our rural Parish

Cllr Dennis Buckley - Vice Chair

I joined the Parish Council in 2004, I have lived in Stretton for the past 24 years and before that I was brought up in Padgate, Warrington. I work in Project Management (Project Controls) for a large British Company which is based in London, but I tend to travel all over the country with my work. I am married with 2 grown up sons. I have been  involved with Scouting for many year at present I train Explorer Young Leaders, and my other passion is watching Warrington Wolves. I love being involved with the Parish Council it enables me to put some of my time back into the community

Cllr Tony Lyons

I have been a Parish Councillor since 2006 and I also represent the Parish Council on the Board of the Pewterspear Green Trust Limited

I am married and have lived in Stretton since 2004

In addition to my Community activities, I am a keen follower of sports especially, football, cricket and rugby

Cllr Bryan Jones

I have lived in Stretton since 1998.  I am married to Linda and we have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.  My interests are watching Rugby Union (I played for Warrington RUFC) and walking

For the past 10 years I have attended most Parish Council meetings and have actively been involved in all the Parish events including planting daffodils for 'Blooming Stretton' and raising funds for the two Christmas trees.  I have attended most of the litter picking days to try and keep the village clean.  I respect the area in which I live and I am keen to ensure it is not spoilt for future generations

Cllr Pat Lyons

I joined the Parish Council in June 2016 but have been actively
involved in a number of activities and fund raising events for the
Parish Council for several years. These have included the sponsored
walk for Twinkling Stretton and the annual Carol Service at Pewterspear
Green

I am married to Tony and we have lived in Stretton since 2004. We have
one son and a grandson who live locally. My leisure interests include
holidays, reading and swimming

I firmly believe that we should encourage our community to work
together to preserve and promote the interests of our village in these
challenging times

Cllr Phil Marshall

I have lived in the Warrington area for 20 years; originally relocating from Yorkshire with my wife and son to work for Greenall's. We now have 4 children who attend various local schools and colleges, with our eldest away at University

I am Managing Director of a creative agency based in Manchester and also a Trustee for a Local Charity (The Walton Lea Partnership) - this has created opportunities to work with a broad range of people from all walks of life and, more recently through the Charity, experience the challenges faced by adults living with learning difficulties or struggling with mental health

First and foremost, communities are made by those people who live in them. As a Parish Councillor I welcome the opportunity to be more involved in the decisions that shape our community and neighbouring wards and represent those who live, work or visit the Parish

Cllr Joe Doherty

I have lived in Stretton for almost 40 years and together with my wife Jean have raised 3 children, all of whom attended St Matthew's School

I recently retired from my post of Chief Executive for a major South Manchester Housing Association which has afforded me considerable experience in working alongside Local Authorities

I am a great believer in Community cohesion and I am extremely proud of our village and will do my utmost to preserve its long term future

Parish Clerk - Gillian Lett

Originating from the Wirral, I moved to the area in 2008 and undertake the role of part time Clerk to the Parish Council. Previously, I enjoyed an established career in Large Corporate Banking and the Cards Industry within an International Bank. I enjoy spending time with my young family, running, swimming and walks with my golden retriever
