Warrington Borough Council Local Plan
6th November 2018
The following email has today been received from Warrington Borough Council
Warrington Borough Council is continuing to work on the delivery of its draft Local Plan, which will set out the proposed approach to meeting the Borough’s future need for homes, jobs and supporting infrastructure.
Within the last 2 weeks the Government has proposed further changes to the formula that will establish the minimum number of homes that Warrington will need to plan for. The Government is consulting on these changes until Friday 7 December 2018.
It is important that the Council has clarity over the changes to the national planning rules in order to understand what this means for Warrington. The Council has therefore decided that it has no option but to delay the publication of its draft Local Plan.
It is now anticipated that the draft Local Plan will be published in March 2019, prior to a further round of public consultation.

Warrington Borough Council have now published their Preferred Options for Housing within Warrington, which has been approved by the Board Executives.
There is now a period of consultation and a number of public presentations are taking place.
Below is an extract from WBC's announcement and if you wish to find out more information on this matter, please refer below and follow the link;
LOCAL PLAN PREFERRED DEVELOPMENT OPTION
The Preferred Development Option sets out the Council’s proposed approach to meeting Warrington’s need for new homes and jobs up to 2037. It also identifies the infrastructure which will be required to be delivered to ensure Warrington’s growth is sustainable. It closely reflects the objectives of the Council’s Warrington Means Business regeneration programme and Warrington’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
You are invited to comment on the Preferred Development Option. We would also welcome your views on the evidence base we have prepared, the Council’s conclusions on Warrington’s development needs and the scope of the work the Council intends to undertake in preparing the submission version of the Local Plan.

As the plans include the release of local green belt land, this could have a significant impact on the village and change its landscape beyond current recognition. As such, in addition to the public meetings being held by Warrington Borough Council's Housing Department, the Parish Council took the decision to cancel the meeting scheduled for 3 July and replace it with a meeting Monday 7 August in order to gauge public feedback and feedback to WBC on a fully informed basis.
Any further questions should be directed via the Clerk @ email@example.com
